About Me

I am an avid home cook and global gourmand. I am a foodie at heart and love anything with bold flavors, which will be obvious through the recipes that I post. Not surprisingly, what I cook reflects the foods I love to eat, which means my recipe posts will bounce you all around the globe.

My passion is premised by my belief that good food unites people – friends, family, and strangers alike. Pair that with good drinks, and people may never go home! Making meals for friends, family, even colleagues is one of my biggest life enjoyments.

I am not a professional chef, nor do I play one on TV 🙂 I am a simple home cook just like you, who really enjoys uniting people through the merriment of dining together. I hope my recipes and posts can help you craft your own culinary adventures to share with your loved ones.

Bon Appetit!

About This Site

About Forking Time is dedicated to my friends and family who have over the years been guests at my dinner table and have been persistent in asking for my recipe(s) – ahem, that’s you Rebecca!

For as long as I can recall, I’ve been intently shadowing my parents, my friends’ parents and countless family members in the kitchen; yet I can hardly remember a time when anybody followed a written recipe.

“Recipes” were always guidelines, a kind of roadmap to a more personal culinary expression. I guess that explains why although I’m an avid cook, I have very few recipes – I have historically been terrible at writing anything down. If nothing else, it is a testament to how flexible and artistic cooking can be; there are truly many ways to make just about everything.

So I guess it’s about forking time I put pen to paper (in this case, fingers to keyboard) – for posterity sake.

On this site, you will find my version of recipes that I’ve made a million times (ok, slight exaggeration), but have never “standardized” them until now. You will also find new recipes I learn as I continue my gastronomical adventures, which I hope you will enjoy.

Rummage through my recipe box and see if there’s anything you like! Unless otherwise noted, most recipes are very forgiving and have a lot of room for variation and flexibility. Take them and make them your own by adding your touches to reflect your taste and preference. Enjoy!
